About International Day of the Girls
Since 2012, October 11 has been marked as the International Day of the Girl by The United Nations. The day aims to highlight and address the needs and challenges girls face while promoting girls' empowerment and the fulfillment of their human rights.

Together, we will explore how our youth can shape their communities and advocate for the rights and freedoms that belong to them as we seek to empower the next generation of leaders through: Civic engagement and human rights education are critical because they provide young people with the tools to influence change, protect their freedoms, and ensure a just and equitable society for all.
