About the event
Diversity & Inclusion - concept framework of Melting Pot vs. Salad Bowl
Overview: The diversity and inclusion framework reflects on us, as individuals, in creating an innovation community. Thus, it is important for all of us to enhance our knowledge on barriers and biases at personal and/or professional levels. Consistently working to educate, engage and empower individuals on diversity and inclusion will help meet the needs of the changing communities in which we live, and we serve. The Melting Pot theory has been the longest-standing ideology and the one most commonly discussed until the concept of the ‘Salad Bowl’. The Salad Bowl idea gives the perspective that each individual brings different tastes into one whole, and that each ingredient maintains its original shape and characteristics.
