About the event

To stay vigilant on the current issues at stake, we established the Responsive Advocacy Task Force to help lead, support, and assist at educating, engaging, and empowering our female community (and HeForShe) pertaining to our current social issues. This includes but is not limited to:

●providing education and awareness opportunities while sharing resources and material on structural/systemic racism/economic injustice

●how to dismantle implicit biases mindsets

●engaging in the advocacy process of allyship with the support from Women of Toledo existing Educational Initiative WEE/ Power Hour Series and Women's Connection - Women’s Circle open conversation sessions.

Our goals as community leaders are to be responsive at listening, learning to relearn and work to understand the problem, identify how to turn this problem into issues, which then become doable, solvable through intervention, prevention, and retention.

To kick off our Responsive Advocacy Series Session, partnering with Ashley Ralston, Owner & Founder of Toledo Moms and lead by Dr. Angie Fitzpatrick, UT The Catharine S. Eberly Center for Women, please join our first call of action - NOW IS THE TIME!

Discussion: An intentional reflection and processing space facilitated by white women for white women who want to do the work of becoming allies to people of color but don’t know where to start. We invite white women to shake off white fragility, unpack white privilege, and unlearn racism in order to become allies in struggles for racial justice. This circle will also include discussion about how we as mothers can raise anti-racist children. More info on this topic please contact Dr. Angie Fitzpatrick at Angela.Fitzpatrick@utoledo.edu
