#419herstory with Meg Ressner

sierra9931

This month we are honored to share the #419herstory of the one and only, Meg Ressner. It’s hard to hear the name, Owens Corning, without thinking of Meg. Meg was with OC for 30 years before going out on her own and creating her own company, Meg Ressner & Associates. Here, as the President and Founder, Meg helps organizations find their purpose, set and exceed their goals and focus on developing and engaging their people.

Not only has Meg built two incredible careers, she’s become a staple for women and diversity in our community. She believes that celebrating women is important because she has seen first hand the positive impact that women can have when they rally together. Because of this mindset and the opportunities that Toledo gives, she has taken on the role as Co-Chair of the Solheim Cup, a women’s PGA golf event where the top ten women from both the USA and Europe compete. Meg is proud to be in this role where she is able to not only celebrate women, but bring together people from all backgrounds. It’s in this role that she has helped oversee, Women Fore Solheim, a committee of local women who are determined to ensure that every woman and girl in our community has a chance to be a part of the Solheim Cup. Meg has been honored to have incredible mentors, both men and women, who have helped her grow into the person who she is today and through Women Fore Solheim, she is equal parts proud and excited to be able to do this for women and girls in our area now.

Meg has built an incredible life with her husband, Dick, who she has been married to for 34 years. They enjoy being Aunt and Uncle to their nieces and nephews and their children. They have both served on boards and support causes they care about including Autism, youth, empowering women and initiatives that lift up our community. It’s hard to describe Meg in one word, but if we had to we’d simply just say, incredible. She works hard everyday to inspire those around her each and every day. She says that has grown to appreciate staying centered and understanding your true self. She strives to make the world around her an inclusive place for all, including the Solheim Cup, where she hopes that everyone is able to participate and enjoy what this unique experience has to offer. We believe it’s true what is trying to do and not only is inspiring all of us at Women of Toledo but women from all over the world!

Make sure to check out the Solheim Cup and all that is has to offer here: https://www.solheimcupusa.com/overview. The event is much more than just a golf tournament! There will be concerts, art, food and tons of fun!
