Dorenthea is an author and women’s conference speaker who loves to encourage and empower women to walk into their “next”, which happens to be the title of her latest book, NEXT: Four Steps to Get Unstuck and Walk Into Purpose. She is a graduate of Oakland University and recently resigned from her position at The University of Toledo to pursue her dream and passion of inspiring women to run after their goals and ambitions, and to just dream again.
In Dorenthea’s first book, In the Midst of the Storm, she wrote about the 12 year incarceration of her husband and the struggles she faced as a single mom, eventually losing everything she had, and being evicted from her home. While she had every reason to quit, her faith kept her going, letting her know that quitting was not an option.
Dorenthea is currently working on a workbook and video series to accompany her book Next, which will walk women through each of the four steps discussed in the book, toward the pursuit of their desires and aspirations.
Since becoming involved with Women of Toledo, Dorenthea has been able to network with professional women in the community who support and motivate each other to stand tall and fight for change. “Being around such strong, phenomenal women lets me know that I am not alone because I’m surrounded by a community of ‘sisters’ pushing me to excel and reach for the stars.”
Dorenthea will be co-facilitating with Coach Liz Thees for our 2018 Fall Kickoff : Women's Connection Program Session on Discovery Gratitude and Vision Board Check-in on Saturday, August 11th from 9:30am to 11:00am at Rainer Room, The Pinnacle- Maumee. Join us to meet and connect with Dorenthea!
