"We can all use someone to lean on." - Izzy Nelson

My name is Israelle Nelson, but many know me as Izzy. The Toledo area has been my home my entire life and has made a big impact on my life. Attending Notre Dame Academy for high school and Bowling Green State University allowed me to meet so many inspirational people, especially women, that have become important mentors and friends in my life.

With a Bachelors in Finance and International Business, I found a passion for the healthcare field and am currently a Financial Analyst for Promedica. Working for a corporation like Promedica has allotted so many opportunities for my growth and development. From the mentor ship I receive from my leadership team, to studying for my Masters of Business Administration at the University of Toledo, I am grateful for all the doors that this role has opened for me.

One of my other passions is community service. Being previously involved with organizations like Safer Kids of Greater Toledo, Cornerstone Church, and Feed Lucas County Children has allowed me to meet so many wonderful people and give back to a community that has given so much to me. I also love supporting organizations that empower our local women, especially Women of Toledo. Serving on the hospitality committee of the Intercultural Gala in October gave me an opportunity to connect with women of all backgrounds to accomplish a shared goal. Being able to share with guests how this organization has helped me was the greatest benefit.

Supporting and engaging with women focused organizations is important because we all can use someone to lean on. Society sets women to a standard that is not always within our reach. Engaging with women organizations like Women of Toledo gives us the opportunity to learn from women of different life journeys to allow us to work more collectively together.
